For our Commercial Development Team at our Leverkusen site we are looking for the next possible entry of a

Global Market Development Director  (f/m/d)

Your Responsibilities:

Maximize the Sales profitability of products sold into the global market now and in the future

  • Product Line Owner in the range of an area (Coatings, plastic & fibers):
    • CM improvement via product portfolio optimization in respect of production capacity
    • Analysis of lifecycle status for the existing and proposed products in the range
    • Product portfolio analysis KRONOS vs. competition with focus on new opportunities
    • Participation with Sales Management in global volume, pricing, and profitability strategies by providing analysis and global research. Provide analytical support for sales contract initiatives and other strategically justified deals.
    • Visit with sales key customers each quarter in North America / each second quarter in Asia – and regular visits in Europe.
  • Product Line Stewardship (product readiness)
    • Define and implement a marketing strategy per product
    • Work with Sales, Product Application Management, Quality, and Product & Process Development to ensure that specifications and certifications meet customer requirements
    • Work with SHE to meet all product regulatory requirements
    • Work with Supply Chain Management to ensure that inventories are right-sized to minimize stock-outs, and that working capital is effectively managed
    • Improve product packaging and delivery systems to customers
    • Support Sales in analyzing value added services (customer storage, point of use consignment, special packaging, VMI and bulk concepts (slurry, silo))
    • Ensure that selling tools are updated and available (brochures, presentations, papers, data sheets, exhibitions and trade fair support, etc.) work with Communication & Services

Your Profile:

  • Engineering / technical background with commercial (preferred) or commercial degree with chemical / technical experience
  • 5 years or more experience with TiO2 customers and products (preferred) or extensive experience in the marketing /product management of other chemical industries
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost drivers
  • Strong analytical skills and innovative approach
  • Ability to coordinate and influence across many functional groups in the organization
