Foster and establish Mattel as a relevant partner in DACH eCommerce for retailers, consumers and other external and internal stakeholders. Drive the digital strategy in the DACH organization by establishing as well as questioning and re-shaping current status and processes. Lead the digital transformation and setup an eCommerce mindset within the Mattel organization.

Build, manage & develop long-term business partnerships with eRetailers in order to achieve the targeted revenue and profit metrics by increasing the online presence for the iconic brands of Mattel. Kick-off and create the business with Omnichannel customers within the DACH region.

In this position you will be part of the Sales team for the DACH region. Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Ownership of eRetail business development in DACH region based on Mattel Global and European strategy
  • Establish KPI driven eCommerce strategy and mindset within the region
    • Drive digital transformation within the DACH organization and establish the region as "first-mover" within Mattel Regional and Global
    • Represent needs for sales and eRetail on a local and regional level to drive digital focus within the company
    • Challenge local German eRetail needs within the Mattel organization
  • Lead the local eRetail channel with focus on eRetail pure players in DACH region
  • Develop long-term strategies and Joint-business-plans with Key Accounts
  • Drive business development within Omnichannel customer portfolio
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g. digital and brand marketing) on local and international level to ensure funds allocated to optimize sales opportunities within customer portfolio, including controlling of the allocated budget
  • Kick-off and activate cross-functional teamwork to drive digital excellence

Core competencies required for the role:

  • Strong leadership skills to foster and encourage young team of 2 people
  • Develop talents and "digital experts" within DACH team
  • Ability to understand and translate the strength of brands into retail strategies
  • Selling and negotiation skills as well as thorough business planning with a long-term horizon
  • Ability to create a culture of customer centric and brand focused thinking
  • Competitive mindset and business results oriented, ability to work in a high energy, fast paced and international environment
  • Partnering with senior leadership, customer management, sales and other partners to foster a collaborative approach
  • Staying on top of new and emerging technologies and trends that will push eCommerce strategies further to drive innovation and better outcomes for key accounts and consumers

Education:

  • University degree in business administration or similar subject

Experience:

  • Min. 8 years of experience in FMCG Key Account Management
  • Min. 1-2 years of experience in eRetail/eCommerce
  • Toy business and/or eRetail exposure as well as leadership experience would be a plus but not required
  • German: fluent in spoken and written; English: business fluent
  • Confident user of MS Office with very good knowledge of Excel
