Your future job

As an Business Development Manager Automotive OEM Germany at Melexis, you will have the following accountabilities:

Market Awareness:

  • Actively drive market research and analysis to identify growth opportunities and secure business expansion in the assigned region
  • Analyse OEM needs, market, portfolio, competitive situation and derive adequate measures and strategies on possible chipset needs/development
  • Identify trends / applications and provide information to Melexis product marketing teams to share the automotive-market knowledge (application needs, roadmaps, relationships) of the assigned market with product lines /  BUs
  • Maintain awareness of competition (position in the market, product development…) 

Business Development: ​​

Enable the best positioning and strategy of Melexis product lines in the assigned market, including especially:

  • Map Automotive applications & needs to IC opportunities
  • Construct, update and monitor critical market intelligence systems (sales forecasts, production forecasts, macro-economic trends, industry and technology trends)
  • Collect and analyze the customer feedback (strategic Voice of Customer – VOC)
  • Contribute into the creation Product Strategy Documents of different product lines (Roadmap - X+3)
  • Share critical insights throughout the organization
  • Share relevant inputs from the assigned market to contribute into the creation of Product Strategy Documents of different product lines (Roadmap - X+3)
  • Establish and maintain strong network (relationship) with key decision makers at Automotive OEMs in Germany
  • Contribute into the new product development cycle and new marketing definition
  • Together with Sales and Product Line’ teams successfully introduce products into the market
    and generate profitable growth

​Business Creation: 

Build the Business Case, create strong relationships with customers and act as a customer representative within the organization during the whole development phase of the products: 

  • Build preliminary business case, prepare and present required documentation
  • Find lead customer and forge strong relationships with key decision makers at potential customers throughout the process ​

Your profile

  • Master's degree in engineering, preferably in electronics and/or systems
  • 10+ years of business experience, preferably in a related technical marketing/ key account manager experience (electronics product marketing or OEM Business Development)
  • Advanced understanding of sensors & actuators in Automotive industry in the region
  • Work experience at Automotive Tier1 sensor/actuator companies
  • Able to work with OEM & design-houses to identify technical needs and guide towards potential MLX IC solutions
  • Advanced ability to identify industry trends, risks, and opportunities for the product lines 
  • Able to provide customer and competitor insight such as market segmentation, competitor strategy/positioning and industry data
  • Advanced understanding of product marketing which includes: strategic Voice of Customer (VoC), customer segmentation, competitive positioning, value definition, pricing strategies, and go-to-market strategies
  • Basic understanding of the IC development process from business case, project kick-off to IC qualification and production 
  • Basic understanding of intellectual property and patents concepts to use in product strategy
  • Effective communication skills in English & local language
  • Willingness to travel intensively within the assigned region and to Melexis head office
